HISTORY:
Formed by the Braathens shipping company to operate long-haul charters to South America and the Far East, and was known as Braathens SAFE until March 1998.In late 1997, Braathens forged marketing agreements with KLM, which acquired a 30% stake, and Northwest Airlines. The Airline moved into the Swedish domestic market in September 1996 with the purchase of Transwede, followed in August 1998 with the acquisition of Malmo Aviation Schedule. SAS acquired Braathens in late 2001.
